The 151 Special set in the Scarlet and Violet Era brought many collectors back into the hobby. With an original release date of September 22, 2023, the set has become increasingly popular, and that has affected prices greatly. With boosterpacks starting at $27 in the U.S. or €25 in Europe, the set is getting out of reach for more consumers.

However, there are more options than just the English boosterpacks. If you collect for the art, you can definitely go ahead and buy Italian or German booster packs which seem to be more readily available, at least in the EU.

However, there's also another part of the world that offers 151 products: China.

While the Japanese booster boxes are also priced astronomically high (with booster boxes going for €300), the Chinese equivalent, a set split up into 4 subsets, are more available, and have some exciting additional chases.

For example: 151C: Surprises contains a Pikachu Haunted by a Gengar. The card is worth in excess of $1500 and is honestly one of my major chases.

Yes, you will be hopeful and surprised if you weren't aware of these sets before.

It's the Chinese version of 151, called "151C Collect" or a version thereof. It has taken the internet by storm half a year ago, but has since laid low.

The boxes come in several variations, but the one taking the cake right now is 151C: Surprise, because it's one featuring a Pikachu and Gengar card.

There are rumours of "limited print runs" on Reddit, but who knows.

So there are different variables.

MSRP $40 for the Jumbo box

However in Europe you can find them for €40 and €100 respectively, at the time of writing. They took quite a dip, because they were €130 and €245 half a year ago.

In short, if you want to rip some 151 and have the chance of pulling a Pikachu or an Alakazam, the Chinese boxes are your go to!
