Moltres Ultra Premium Collection

You are about to read a majestic article
The Ultra Premium Collection, this time in a Moltres Jacket. Great box art!
So upcoming is what could have been one of my favorite products of the year: the Moltres Ultra Premium Collection. In a long and growing line of Ultra Premium Collections, this product is coming hot on the heels of the launch of Phantasmal Flames.

No relation though, as that set has its own Ultra Premium Collection.
The box in itself looks absolutely stunning, and so do its contents.
In it, you can expect three Promo cards, the regular Ex, the Full Art and the Special Illustration Rare Moltres(es) 😁 All of them stamped.
Check out this beauty:
It will be interesting to see if this drives the price of the regular Moltres that's in Destined Rivals' main set down, and at what price point this card will land.
So, this was the good, now onto the bad. You would think that for a set that is fully Destined Rivals would contain a boatload of Destined Rivals boosterpacks. While the collection does contain 18 boosterpacks, merely two of them are Destined Rivals packs. For the rest it contains:
  • Two Mega Evolution packs
  • Four Journey Together packs
  • Six Twilight Masquerade packs
  • Four Surging Sparks packs
All in not, not that bad, but for a Destined Rivals teams sets, this really feels like a missed opportunity for the Pokémon Company to release a fantastic set. It becomes a bit underwhelming, and, dare I say, not an immediate pick-up for the hardened Pokémon Trading Card Game lover.
Hey, maybe we just need to look out for the Charizard Ultra Premium Collection that's also coming out around the same time..
